I just ran a Kdenlive project on one video into all the lossless formats and they all worked for me in Linux Mint KDE 18.3. If you select a "lossless" format that is larger or a different video file type (container) than the originals and or a higher frame rate, you will get a larger video size and it will take longer to render. It would also help to know what the original video(s) resolutions, video file types, and their frame rates are (can use "mediainfo-gui") and what the Kdenlive project resolution and frame rate is that you chose. How did you install Kdenlive? I always recommend installing Kdenlive from the Mint "Synaptic Package Manager (SPM)" along with all of its recommended and suggested packages even if you decide to later use their AppImage or Flatpak options. I would also use "ffmpeg" v3.x which is in the Linux Mint 19.x "Synaptic Package Manager (SPM)", but would require a different installation method for Linux Mint 18.x. I also recommend installing "ubuntu-restricted-extras". I'll assume you installed the 3rd party software during the Mint installation, if not install "mint-meta-codecs". If you run " inxi -Fxzd" from the console terminal prompt, highlight the results, copy and paste them back here, that should provide enough information. It would help to know more about your system setup.
